KublaCon or Bust!

With only 16 days remaining to submit our game to the amateur board game design contest @ kublaCon, we here @ GO Games Lab are waiting with anticipation for our 70 card set that is in transit (mail) from Superior Pod (printers) :-D

Both I and my friend Gil have purchased our tickets and are looking forward to our first year attending this convention and hopefully receiving good feedback of our game :-)

We have worked very hard on our game and hope others enjoy it as much as we have.

Here is a sneak peek of the board game and its components minus the the two 35 card decks that were completed by Superior Pod (custom homemade cards created by us are shown instead):

3 T. O. W. Peg-O's!

The game is nearing completion, and KublaCon is 46 days away! Both I and my friend Gil have been working on Mondays to complete 2 colorful card decks (70 cards total) that will be sent to the printers hopefully in the next week or two.
Here are 2 pics of all the game Peg-Os that will be sent in with the game for submission.

I will post pics of the complete board game (board, game pieces, dice, tokens, and cards) once the cards have been printed.

Late in the Workshop...again :-)

I just finished painting the last Peg-O for 3T.O.W.
but the creative juices are still flowing tonight. So I ended up making this thing...
Is it a UFO? or a Submarine?

All I know for sure is, I am in the process of making it some magnetic guns to attach to the side of the hull. Mounted on a WH40k base; this will make a nifty game piece. Now for the hard part.....making an "invasion" board game for it :-D

Staying up late is hard to do for my dog Seebee :-)

Field Medic - SilkyKay!

Field Medic SilkyKay is equiped with a needle gun and comes with a diorama base that consists of medical equipment and "Supply Depot" crates that are earned as every player begins a new tour.

Both the Field Medic and Pilot are wearing jumpsuits, so if its not obvious, those are zippers that run down their uniforms :-)

Late in the Workshop...

Here is a Peg-O pocket racer I just put together tonight. I am thinking of calling him "Jonas Danger" in the Booster-2000!

ARMY BAG

For the past month I've been searching online for an army bag capable of holding a single 4 inch sabol foam tray that I've been using to carry all my 3 T.O.W. Peg-O's. I thought it would make a cool themed piece to be sent with my game when I submit it to KublaCon. However nobody (including Sabol) seems to make a bag small enough to transport just one foam tray!

But today, I decided to visit my local Army Surplus Store here in my little town and there it was. An army bag big enough to hold the 13x7.5x4.5 foam tray!

It was only $19 and I saw alot of neat things in the store that I might want to purchase at a later time. Best part about the store was the sales woman who was rocking an ipod (with headphones on) and playing Rammstein's: Du Hast so loud I could hear it from the back of the store :-D

When I got home I made a cover out of green canvas to make the foam easier to slide in and out without resistance or being damaged. Yup, I sewed it myself :-) a feat I am quite proud of seeing as I've never sewn anything other than a torn hacky-sack :-P

Army Transport Bag

I might add a flag or white star, or our 3 T.O.W. logo

6 Turn Counter / John G. Sesame

Here is the completed 6 turn counter :-D

For those of you who haven't played; the 6 turn counter is started the second the first player ends his or her last tour. All other players have 6 turns to complete their final tour or they're points are halved!

I originally intended for this piece to be set in a mini helicopter, but unfortunately that project fell apart. Plastic and "heavy" wooden pegs don't sit well together and the frustration caused me to rush into salvaging the pieces that were still good and accidentally getting a big piece of plastic to shoot into my eye (with the use of a dremmel). It scare the living Jesus out of me! I got the piece out by rushing to the sink and washing my eye out; it was very red, itchy and irritated for a day :-(
*Remember kids, "don't be a dummy" safety first! Use protective goggles when using a dremmel* :-)
