3 TOW - THE VIDEO GAME (?!)

I can dream can't I!  :-)

These are pixels made on excel and converted to PDF then JPEG; so that I can post them. I would love to find an easy program were I can make my own game or app. Or perhaps find a group that can help me accomplish this (hint, hint...anyone out there live in the Bay Area CA?)

The 3 TOW characters and GO! Games Lab universe are my and Gil's creation; however I was heavily influenced by pixels in an app I recently played called TOWER OF FORTUNE, and also Megaman.
The game that I am thinking of would play like a cross between Metal Slug and River City Ransom. Up to 4 players would play co-op in bringing down the evil S.C.I.M.I.T.A.R. organization!

Here are the 4 main playable characters with their first sheet of pixels. I will post more as I make them :-)

*Update: Pixels have been updated (I keep finding little mistakes) and darker skin tone for Oats :-)

DICE!!!

I've been toying with the idea of making a table top war game with the 3 T.O.W. minis, and I designed some custom dice for the codex I am putting together. Below are some images of the dice faces that I am going to have custom made :-)

Each soldier (Oats, Casey, Lars, Rusty) will have there own dice. There image will be on all 6 sides with different values. These 6 sided dice can also be used as a d6, d3, and d2.

New Skirmish Game?

My good buddy Gil asked me to make him a team of Peg-O insurgents that could possibly be used for a table top skirmish/war game involving 3 TOW characters!
We played 2 quick games this past Sunday and I really liked it, so today I am finishing up the first baddy!
This is insurgent number 1 holding a rocket launcher and getting ready to duel it out with Sequoia :-D

I also need some help with naming this bad guy team...I am thinking I need a name that is iconic like Hydra or Cobra! Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated :-)

3 TOW - Card Gallery

Here are just a handful of the 70 cards that come with the original 3 T.O.W. board game!

The 70 cards consist of 2 draw decks (35 cards each).

There is the "Supply Depot" deck that helps players by giving them equipment and interrupt cards...

and there is the "Open Fire" card deck that consist of single encounters and group encounters that must be successfully resolved in combat or you take a wound.

Creating a Portfolio

KublaCon has come and gone, and I had a great time :-)
Tho we did not win, we walked away with nice compliments and good reviews to better our game, "3 Tours of War".
There are a few rules that we plan to retouch-up, and then try our luck @ submitting the game to a publisher to license.

Me and Gil are currently in the slow process of creating an eye-catching game portfolio. I personally am currently juggling my work, my hobby, and my recent engagement to my lovely fiance Stace-Kay :-)

So, my part as amateur board game designer has slowed down, but I am still slowly working on expansions for 3 T.O.W., finishing Peg-O Brawlers, and starting a racing game I am calling Pocket Racers.

I have also recently been playing a lot with my perler beads, and I am considering making this:

This image was made using Excel and it is a Mini travel size edition of 3 T.O.W.
It is also the first expansion titled "Veterans" and has a dessert theme to it.
I have been working on this during my spare time and it will be made completely out of perler beads including the game pieces (but not the dice or cards :-P). I am really trying to keep it a travel size edition as the board is easily collapsible into 9 squares; and much smaller than the canvas board I used for the first one. But I am having trouble coming up with a good small icon I can make out of perler beads to represent the players. I am currently considering helmets, dog tags, or weaponry of choice standing upright. If you have any suggestions feel free to drop me a comment :-)

En Route!

I shipped out our package this morning to its first stop (Seattle WA), where it will be received and looked over by the lady (Julie Haehn) in charge of the amateur board game design contest :-) I shipped it priority and it should get there by Thursday the 12th.

With a deadline of May 15th we cut it pretty close, but I am glad that we made our deadline and hopefully our board game receives good feedback :-D

I am looking forward to KublaCon just 18 days away!

KublaCon is on memorial day weekend in S.F. May Friday 27th - Monday 30th 2011 at:

KublaCon or Bust!

With only 16 days remaining to submit our game to the amateur board game design contest @ kublaCon, we here @ GO Games Lab are waiting with anticipation for our 70 card set that is in transit (mail) from Superior Pod (printers) :-D

Both I and my friend Gil have purchased our tickets and are looking forward to our first year attending this convention and hopefully receiving good feedback of our game :-)

We have worked very hard on our game and hope others enjoy it as much as we have.

Here is a sneak peek of the board game and its components minus the the two 35 card decks that were completed by Superior Pod (custom homemade cards created by us are shown instead):
